How to turn of crosshairs on a new symbol

I have seen this topic in earlier discussions but the solution did not work for me. 

 

I have created a new device but when it is added to a schematic the crosshairs, which locate the symbol in the centre of the design area ,in the symbol appear on the schematic.  The earlier discussion suggested using the command "set Option.ShowPartOrigins 0" but this did not work.

    The SET command should work....

     

    set Option.ShowPartOrigins 0

     

    switches off the origin crosses. Did you a window refresh after

    using it? Which EAGLE version and operating system?
