drc does not appear to work?

I have a board with DRC spacing set to 8mil trace to trace, trace to pad, and pad to pad.   I have these traces routed on the top and bottom layers, inside of a ground plane with isolate set to 10mil,  and the back off or cut out spacing = i.e the isolate seems to be cutting back 12mils, and when I run DRC, I get all kinds of clearance errors, when there is clearly 10 to 12 mil spacing,  even If I change the isolate to 0, I still seem to get the back off or cut out spacing of 12 mil, and still get DRC errors with 8mil settings.  Is there some setting I am not aware of, or does DRC not function as intended?

I found the answer because other similar posts showed up to the right --->  "MORE LIKE THIS"

For some reason The Default Class was set to 12mil,  instead of zero.   not sure how that happened, but I changed it to 10mil and now all DRC errors are gone.  Thanks

to get this menu to show up go to the top command box and just type in CLASS and it opens a menu, and you can set upto 8 net classes with different spacing.  I was Unaware of this

My Bad,    I was thinking it was related to polygons and DRC when it was the CLASS setting...  HOWEVER,  the DRC is still in error,  as DRC should be checking to the settings in the DRC menu, and instead it is checking against the CLASS menu.   and I read somewhere that the program uses the larger of the two numbers,  this should be fixed in the future, AS you can want larger spacing from traces and pads to the Ground polygon, and still want smaller spacing trace to trace, trace to pad.   in my case  12 mil cutout from ground plane and 8 mil trace to trace and trace to pad.  at least now I have a workaround.

Once you have the correct value, you can set-up a script to initialize them to prevent this.
