Turn off thermals on selected components

zainka
zainka over 9 years ago

Hi

I have a design with several press-fit connectors. For these to turn off thermals would be a benefit. However, for other components which are soldered, thermals are required.

Is it possible to turn off thermals for individual components but leave them on for others?.

Thanks in advance

Im sure pressfit footprint is slightly different from the soldered. Copy

the package, tweak it (clear thermals for all the pads), save it and add

it to the part as a pressfit package.

It depends on the package. Some connectors for pf states in their datasheet that soldering is indeed an valid options.

But in general, yes. the pins are quite different in shape and the alloy used could also differ.

Reffere to the datasheet for the pf connector to be used.
