Eagle 7.5.0 nasty bug in importing gerber files

I was very excited with the feature importing gerber files into pcb.

When trying to import several gerber layers I've found something nasty: Importing from one layer to the next one it repeats the net names, meaning the signals in the pcb are all messed up.

I tested with four layers small board, dont know if it happens with other PCB stacks.

This feature would be perfect to import pcb made on kicad through gerbers as there isn't another way (as far as I Know of...) or even to do reverse engineering.

Anyone had this problem?

    The Gerber import is a brute force attempt to get the data into Eagle. Gerbers have less fidelity than an Eagle file so some of the data import has to be generated on import and its not always possible to do this in a way that makes sense for Eagle. For the net names its just creating unique names based on a counter that is keeping track of the wires imported. When you run it on multiple layers the counter gets reset each time. If the counter keep incrementing across layer imports would that address your issue?
