Lines shown in ratsnest but not autorouting

First up, I ma very much a newbie to using EagleCad

I have a fairly simple schematic using an arduino nano from the Element14 library connecting to 2 motor drivers

All the connections show on the board as part of the ratsnest but when I autoroute none of the traces to the nano are drawn.

I have spent several hours trying to figure what I am doing wrong.

I have attached the .sch and .brd files

    Hi Colin

     

    You have a few issues:

    (1) The capacitor in the top right of the schematic is not connected to

    the nets. It also does not appear on the schematic for some reason so I

    would delete it and add it again.

    While you are just beginning, it pays to check connections to pins by

    moving the schematic symbol and verifying the nets stay attached. Just

    hit 'Esc' to have the moved item snap back to its starting position.

    Remember to use 'NET' and not 'WIRE' when connecting pins on  the schematic

     

    (2) The routing issue is caused by the outline of the nano being on the

    layer 20Dimension. The router is seeing it as the edge of the board and

    won't route beyond it.

    You could change the layer of teh outline to, say, tPlace. Then the

    router will work

     

    (3) I suspect your nano element is not what you need. If you are going

    to plug a nano into the PCB you are making then you don't need a nano

    template, rather,just the headers it will plug into. You could find or

    make a nano element (footprint) that consists of the header pads, tPlace

    silkscreen outline and wording. It could have holes if the nano board is

    to be screwed down.
