I'm teaching myself Eagle using "Make your own PCBs with EAGLE" by Simon Monk, but I'm stuck on page 71 in the section introducing "Buses".
Following his text I add a complex component (like HD44780 or atmega32u2) to my schematic and try to rotate it, but nothing happens except it beeps at me. Curiously I can add and rotate a simple component (e.g. resistor) no problem ...
Hoping someone can explain what I'm missing?

EDIT: solved - if I point my mouse at the tiny little centering mark in the complex component it works! Dumb newbie error maybe, but it would be nice if Simon explained this in his book as it took me 3 days to figure out
