Others get an error when trying to open my board

Hi,

I'm trying to send my .brd and .sch files to a PCB manufacturer to have my board made, but they seem to get an error when trying to open the .brd file despite me being able to open it with no problems. Here is the error message that they get:

Loading C:/Users/kf67/Desktop/Andrew/MS V1.2(1).brd ...

Warning(s):

line 234: unknown attribute 'urn' in tag <library>

line 238: unknown attribute 'library_version' in tag <package>

line 334: unknown attribute 'library_version' in tag <package>

line 421: unknown attribute 'library_version' in tag <package>

line 472: unknown attribute 'library_version' in tag <package>

line 543: unknown attribute 'urn' in tag <library>

line 547: unknown attribute 'library_version' in tag <package>

line 568: unknown attribute 'library_version' in tag <package>

Error:

line 2031, column 10: redefinition of name 'pinhead' in tag <library>

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, it's greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Alex

Seems that manufacturer and you use different versions. At least you

should give your version here. The easiest thing would be to place your

files here so that people can check that, if it is not a top secret

    design image

    Hey Joern,

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately I cannot upload the design. I wouldn't consider it top-secret but I am not permitted by my employer to upload it. I am using Version 8.2.1 if that is helpful.

Did you inform your manufacturer with that information? Autodesk changed

the license conditions perhaps your manufacturer doesn't like that.

    Hi Alex,

I suggest using the CAM processor to generate Gerber files.  Gerbers are

accepted by any board fabrication house.  When dealing with CAD source

files, there's always incompatibilities that surface, just like the one

    you encountered.

There's very good documentation on how to setup CAM Processing jobs as

well as several examples that come with Eagle.  You may also find a few

    how-to videos.

    HTH,

        - Chuck

    Hi Alex,

It looks like a side effect of the managed libraries "feature" they added in V8.2. I guess it's causing the manufacturer to not be able to read it because they expect the old format. Fortunately you have two options:

    1) As Chuck suggests, use the CAM processor and create gerber Files.

    2) Use the new export feature in the file menu to save a copy of the board In a pre v8.2 compatible format.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael
