Any way to change backup file extensions?

Anyone have experience of saving your PCB files to OneDrive? I get problems syncing because OneDrive does not support file extensions with characters like '#' in them. So the backup files created by Eagle will not upload, and OneDrive stops synchronizing any files after it encounters one of these backup files.

I use OneDrive so that I can work on a project both at work and at home on separate PCs.

I have read that there are also software products available that will
intercept the file name and change it prior to storing out in the cloud.
Google for this option.
