    Good afternoon, Sorina,

Open the library, and use the Remove command.

    Thank you Chuck,

here is the problem: when I open the library, for exampel adafruit.lbr, I can choose between comands such as: (Open, Rename, Copy, Delete, Use, Update). so, if I choose delete I should removed entire adafruit.lbr but this is not what I want.

I want to remove from adafruit.lbr for exampel device 1N4004. If I instead right-click on 1N4004 I can choose between (Add to schematics and Copy to library). The last one is disabled. So, I dont have possibility to remove/delete one device in a library.

    How can I solve this?

In my working library I have a lot of unwanted copies of different devices which I have used when I made my own devices. But now I need to clean up after me. I need to remove all copies and keep only those devices I made myself.

    Regards,

    Sorina

The fundamental problem is that you are NOT OPENING the library. Merely

expanding the tree on the control panel is not "opening". You need to

double click on adafruit.lbr to actually OPEN it in the library editor.

None of this is peculiar to Eagle; it's standard GUI behaviour.

Once you have the library editor open, you can use the Remove command to

delete individual devices, unused packages or symbols.

    HTH,

    Rob

    Great Rob!

    It works. Thank you!

Do I have to remove every device and every package and every symbol one by one?

Think that one device follows with a lot of packages which means it will be a lot of work untill I remove all packages one by one.

Can I remove several packages together with the same comand?

There are a few ULP that may be of use.

    del-devices.ulp

    del-empty-devices.ulp

    del-pack-sym.ulp

Perhaps make a copy of you library first before trying.

    For further safety:

Place the copy into a new folder away from your current eagle folders.

In Options > directories.. > Libraries add the path to this folder and

place it at the front of the paths already there. In that way your library

will be the first one located and any others with the same name in the

later paths will not be used.

    HTH
