I've made a few custom part pad layouts but never anything like this and couldn't figure it out by online tutorials.
I wanted to design a new package for a 1/2 AA battery holder. The battery holder has terminals that get soldered directly into the PCB like a through hole part. I assume I don't just want a hole fin the PCB board for the battery connection but something like a via perhaps? What should I use to make the "holes" in the package design? I can get the size and distance correct, just not sure if I should use a pad, hole, etc.
