Eagle automatically changes the part names

Hi Eagle automatically changes the names of pieces when we want to put in panel? How not to let eagle rename the names? Sebastien

Hi Sebasiten,

In EAGLE you cannot have duplicates of the same part name on the board so when you come to make a panel you need to do a little extra work to overcome this. There is a ULP which ships with EAGLE called panelize.ulp which you can use to create replacement tNames / bNames layers which retain the existing device references. You then use these new layers when you create the Gerbers for the panel so the silkscreen shows the correct reference designators.
