Hot create LED strip 600mm in length

elwolv12
elwolv12 over 7 years ago

hello;

Eagle offline free version has limit 100mm x 80 mm

how can we represent a gerber file for 600mm x 150mm pane for LED

or 600x50mm strip on this version of Eagle?

or how to extend the length or how to represent the 600mm within the 100 mm length?

It isn't clear to me exactly what you are trying to do but if you can cleverly break the design into multiple small cards that can butt together you might be able to join them all together in one set of Gerbers using something like Viewplot.

    thank for the advice

the objective to have an LED Strip 24"x 2" or panel 24"x 6"

can the manufacturer receive and use segmented Geber's files like 6 separate sections files and use to construct single strip?

can we make the 100x80 mm Eagle segments then connect by other package to single file

    acceptable to the manufacturer?

    thank you

The manufacturer won't join the Gerber artwork of multiple cards together to make a single PCB. Either you join the multiple Gerber artwork into a large Gerber set or you design the small cards to be connected to each other after the manufacturer has made the PCBs.

    that Clear and understood.

if the commercial packages has limited length for the board design, then:

how do they manufacturer such strips?  obviously they have their packages that generate the

    wanted files!!

how do "we" manage to generate a file with such length applied for this purpose?

    what package has this capability?

    thank you

    You began this thread with:

Eagle offline free version has limit 100mm x 80 mm

                   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

So the answer to your questions above is obvious. If you need to produce

a bigger board, don't use the size-limited FREE version that is FREE for

evaluation purposes. The professional version can produce boards up to

several metres square (more than any board house could cope with). And

with the new subscription model, you actually only need to pay for one

month ($50 give or take) to do a board like yours.

    thank you for your answers

the commercial package does have higher limits, which not obvious to me

since all writing did shows a limited size descriptions, which not true.

    the question answered

    thank you
