Re-positioning the text portion of a dimension

bobbeird
bobbeird over 6 years ago

I'm dimensioning a PCB and for the life of me, cannot figure out how to reposition the text. The fact that my google searches have returned nothing makes be believe it's so easy even a caveman can do it...I'm just not smarter than a caveman apparently.

So...how do I move the dimension text?

Thank you very much for you help, and I apologize for not successfully finding this one on my own.... I know it has to be easy...

Best Regards,

Bob

If text is part of a library device you must change it in the library.

If its on board you must make the origins layer(s) visible (a

cross-hair) to be able to move things.

I think Bob wants to move the dimension value/text vs the arrows and

lines.. I havent found a way to do it either, but changing the text size

may move it to a more suitable location.

When the text is outside the dimension, it may be annoying to have it on

the wrong side. But idk if this has been added since 7.7.0.

Maybe he gives now a more precise information and the version number.

Is it possible to smash a dimension?

No, there is no smash ability for a dimension.

    Hi Bob

Some people have been responding on the old CADSOFT NNTP but their postings have not been making back to E14.  An E14 issue.

    So here they are:
