replacing components automatically

Hi,

 

I am working on a design that is tight on board space, so I am looking to

swap all my 0402 resistors to 0201, likewise for the capacitors.

 

My library is set up so that I have separate parts for the different

footprints, so it is clear i.e. I have an R0805, and R0603, R0402 and so on,

rather than just having R, with a choice of footprints.

 

I don't want to have to cut every R and C out of the schematics, replace

them with a new R0201 part (which I have yet to create), and then go through

adding component values.

 

Is there a way that I can command Eagle to replace each instance of R0402

with an R0201 and each C0402 with a C0201, whilst preserving the component

value?

  • you could change the library: modify R0402 to the sizes of 0201; the same

    for capacitors. then use "update library" from board or schematic
