Stop masks over holes

autodeskguest

I have a few holes on my board that will be used for mounted. I added

the holes in the board editor, and they seem to have the top layer

stop-mask enabled. Seems odd since its going to be drilled. But either

way, how do I turn that off?

I clicked change, stop, off, then clicked on the holes but that did

nothing (fwiw, that seems to do nothing for the devices on my board either).

Thanks,

-Brad

Stop mask layer show where the mask film is not applied. It applied

after the board is drilled an may be silk screened. If you try to apply

mask to the hole it can form a blob and drip.

When you have a hole you can't put a stop mask on it.

Interesting. I considered that, but then doesn't solder get inside the

hole? Or does it just not stick?

If you want unplated holes you have to let the board house know that

have to be drilled after plating. If you want to have plated holes but

no solder on it when they are wave solder you have to tell the assembly

house to apply solder resist to the holes which prevents the solder from

reaching that area when it is run in the wave solder.
