rebel LED package

Hi,

I'm already two days busy trying to design the package for a Luxeon Rebel

LED (see attached files). It is very difficult and time-consuming to design.

I'm drawing each pad as a polygon now. Is this the right way or does someone

have a faster and simpler method?

Best regards,

Mark

    Hi,

I designed the footprint, as attached. But now I want to connect all via's

to the V(ia)-pin. Anyone any suggestions?

So, for my right understanding, it is not possible to make the copper

    polygons in the package/footprint??

    Hi Mark,

Yes , it's possible to use polygons with width 0 in layer 1 to create

"virtuals" pads in package library, I'm doing it with success, but you

    must

    create layer 29 too (mask)

You'll have many errors DRC "clearance" with real small pad you have

    insert

in "pad polygon" and wire connect but it's not problem.

For your complex pads it's the only solution or perhaps with many pads but

    i'm not sure ?

Perhaps in future release we could affect copper polygons  to pad but

    actually no....

    Sorry for my english,

    Guy
