Unable to install 4.16r2 on XP x64

autodeskguest

Hi guys!

I am in a bit of a piccle here. Somehow the install for Eagle 4.16r2 fails

on Windows XP x64.  Letting it unpack and trying the setup.exe directly

gives an error saying "The image file setup.exe is valid, but is for a

machine type other than the current machine type."

Normally the emulation in x64 should allow regular XP compativle programs to

run but something is blocking this setup.

I tried 4.16r1 but I get the same error.

Copying the old installation of 4.16r1 from regular XP into the x64

installation works so it appears that the previous software itself has no

problems running.  Just the installer.

What gives?  No x64 support?

It's a matter of the 4.16 installer. It's an older version that

does not support 64 bit systems.

So is the correct method just to manually copy the files over?

My P64bit machine comes in 2 days !

    Thanks

On the ftp from cadsoft, you could download a ZIP version of the program.

This can be unpack in Program Files directory.

I ran 4.16r2 on my Windows XP64 laptop without any problem. I downloaded

the zip file and applied the license I received.
