Supply Layer

Can anyone tell me how to add a supplay-layer.

I do only have standard edition.

That is 2 signal, (1&16) layer and possible 2 supply layers (2&15)

I want to add a ground layer between top and bottom, but I cant find a

solution in my books.

I have used POLYGON and NAME to attatch to the ground signal, but it looks

like a solid copper-layer.

That is, I can not see any clearense around my pads and vias.

The attatched picture is a snapshot of my DRS an LAYER

I do not know what to write. It looks vrong.

Please...

    A typical layer setup for 4 layer boards with through hole vias only

    would look like this:

    (12*1516)

     

    To define a ground plaine draw a polygon in one of the inner layers

    and name it the same as the signal it sould lead. The polygon follows

    the Design Rule's clearance values.

    Byt when I add a supply-layer 2 , using polygon and NAME it to graound, I

    can not see any clearense around any type of vias.

    The CAM-PROCESSOR say something about: No signal for supplay layer

    '$Route2'!

    What am i missing?

    Supply layers and polygons don't mix well (they do work but not like you

    think).

    Supply layers with the $ prefix are drawn negative. So any thing you put

    on it removes copper.

    If you need anything besides a solid sheet of copper it is best to use a

    normal type layer and polygons then what you see is what you get.

    Also get all of the headers and see the post from 7/21/2005 with same

    subject.
