Changing from inch to mil permanent..?

autodeskguest
autodeskguest over 17 years ago

Hi

How do I change from using inch to using mil as standard measuring unit when

opening board or schematic? I would like mil to be the standard unit in the

program.

I am pretty tired of changing it every time I open a window...;-/

And next..: how do I make a permanent change of the grid size for the

boardeditor (both normal and Alt)?

    But Peter, "mil" is just 1/1000 inch !

    Did you mean millimetres ? (mm)

    I know. But mill is much easier to work with.

    No.

    In /scr/eagle.scr for example

    GRID mil 50 dots on alt mil 10;

    mil unit, dots, grid on, default grid 50 mils and alternative grid 10 mils

    GRID mm 1 lines off alt mm 0.1

    millimeter unit, lines, grid off, default grid 1 millimeter an

    alternative grid 0.1 millimeters

    Edit your eagle.scr file, which lives in the scr directory under your Eagle

    installation directory (\Program Files\Eagle-4.16r2\scr on my system).  The

    eagle.scr script file has a section for each editor (BRD, SCH, LBR, DEV,

    SYM, PAC).  I also like to work in mil, so my BRD section includes:

    grid mil;

    You can add whatever commands you want to eagle.scr to configure Eagle to

    come up the way you like in the various editors.

    Great! I didn't know that configuration file existed. I just love Eagle image
