Smashed but can't move

autodeskguest

I'm having trouble moving some text that is associated with a particular

library part that someone else created for me.  In fact, I cannot even

select these certain text items by grouping or selecting.  I have smashed

the part and I have been able to select and move other text items associated

with the part.  I am stumped and this is the last thing I have to do before

completing my design.

It depends on the way to package is designed in the library.

Only "placeholder" text (like >NAME, >VALUE etc.) is movable after

SMASH. If your package contains additional text that is simply dropped

    in somewhere, it's not movable.

Hmm.  Well then, is it possible to delete this text or do I need to re-do

the library part?  I can't seem to group or select it.

You can't partially remove a package while editing the board.

If you want to remove some detail, you need to edit the package in the

    library, then UPDATE your design.

Another good reason to not put too much unnecessary details into package

    definitions.

    Thanks.  That worked.
