Printer won't start

When I print to my windows printer it won't start.

 

I can see the print job in the print queue with status "sent to printer"

but nothing happens.

 

My work around is to print to my pdf printer (cute pdf) and thereafter

print the pdf file but it would be easier to print directly.

    I tried the first option, but could still not print.

     

    I then, in the printer dialogue, selected another printer and then back

    to the Brother.

     

    Thereafter I could print.
