Renaming devices

I found some mistakes in device names I had made when i printed the BOM. I

went back to the library renamed them and them opened the schematic and then

ran UPDATE. I thought that would reflect the new name in the BOM but it

didn't. Any way to do that.

    one of the v4 pitfalls - UPDATE relies on the device name, and you

    can't access (edit) the device name in the sch/brd files.

     

    You can use

    • updateman (ULP) if there are many devices to change,

    • Eagle 5 will allow "REPLACE" in the schematic,

    • otherwise delete (with Shift key) the component and add it again.
