suitable video card for EAGLE 4.09r2

hi,

recently i moved from my old win98 system to a new machine

that runs XP. On the old system i had an AGP card which

produced only minor problems at high magnification.

The new card (with more memory!) causes big trouble.

I have to restart EAGLE in the average every 30 minutes.

Thank God it allows me to save my work before i have to

restart the program.

Unfortunately i can not use the old video card in the

new system because there is no AGP slot.

Can somebody recommend a modern (fastPCI) video card that

supports two 19inch monitors (1280X1024) even at maximum

magnification for EAGLE4.09r2 with an XP system.

With maximum magnification i mean a 0.00625 grid becoming

clearly visible. The board is a little larger than A4.

    While I can't recommend any particular grafics card, I would suggest to

    first try the latest 4.0x version. The latest beta version 4.09r56 fixed

    several bugs occuring at some particular system configurations. Don't

    worry about the beta status, it was the most stable 4.0x at all.

     

    Unfortunately, it is not available on CadSofts FTP server any more (at

    least I didn't find it within seconds...). You could send me a mail to

    the reply-to address (or ask CadSoft for that version).

     

    Maybe your problems vanish with that version.

    And, BTW, always use the latest drivers for your card. Did you already

    check that?

    Hello,

     

    what exactly is the 'big trouble'? After installing Eagle on your new

    computer did you check the "always use vector font" option? This is

    known to cause graphic problems. maybe it has nothing to do with your

    new videocard.
