Hello, I wanted to test drive the new 5.0 version of Eagle, but I noticed
that it requires Mac OS 10.4 or newer. Has anybody run Eagle 5 on Mac OS
10.3.9? Is it operating ok?
THank you,
Tony

Tried it with a 10.3.3 installation and did not succeed in starting
EAGLE. Currently I don't know the exact reason why it does not work.
I think it must be at least 10.4.

I finally got the time to try Eagle 5 in Mac OS 10.3.9
It seems to work fine. I opened several projects and moved stuff around did
some re-routing etc... Of course I was working from copies and I did not
bother saving any of my work in 5.0.
I have not taken a project from start to finish, still a little nervous
about that...
I would like to hear from anybody using Eagle OS 10.3.9
I do not want to pay for the OS 10.4 upgrade if I do not need it!

If the OS X client for Eagle-5 uses C++, and is built using GCC4 under
Xcode, the resulting binary will require the dynamic lib for libstdc++
to be present at runtime. That lib wasn't added until 10.3.9 (it is
provided as part of the OS).
This is a little different from past versions of dev tools on OS X where
you could have the C++ runtime embedded statically in the app.
This may or may not be the issue at hand here but I thought it was worth
mentioning.

Rob, that would explain why Richard was NOT able to run Eagle 5 on Mac OS
10.3.3
Thanx for the insight.
