Best use of BOM?

matterama
matterama over 17 years ago

Hi all,

I was hoping it would be obvious (and maybe it will be after you suggest

it), but I was hoping in Eagle 5.0 that there would be an easy field (like

the new attribute) where I could enter a part number (like a Digikey number)

that gets picked up by a BOM script.  I don't want to have a disconnect

outside of the schematic for keeping track of part numbers.

Can anyone suggest how to do this, or if they have a good way of doing BOM's

as the design progresses instead of at the end?

Thanks,

Matt

    Try this: ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/eagle/userfiles/ulp/bom_with_attributes.zip

This zip-file contains an ulp with uses the attributes to generate a

    sophisticated bom.

    Hi Matt, Carsten,

I was wondering if you have found a way to automatically create

"standard" attributes as parts are placed in the schematic. I would like

having attributes like supplier, supplier part number, price on every

part without entering the name each time a part is placed.

I've been using BOM-AM-11 so far and it performs very well. I have a hot

key (ctrl B) set up to call the ULP so it's not too bad to fill out as

you add parts. It would be nice to be able to right click on the part to

    add these fields.

    Cheers,

    Mark
