Copying a project

Sorry if this is a repeat question image

How do I make a new project comprising the schematic and board files from an existing project? This is something most people would want to do if they have to modify an existing design but also want to keep the existing version intact, right?

So far I have been doing this in as follows : I create a new project with Eagle's Control Panel, next I use Windows Explorer to copy the .sch and .brd files of the existing design into the new project folder. Next I use Eagle's Control panel again to rename the 2 files (e.g. rename filename_V1.sch as filename_V2.sch). Than, I need to open both files and close the project via the Control Panel and my copy is now ready for editing. A bit cumbersome if you ask me image

Isn't there a better/easier way to make a copy of an existing project if I want to modify a design into a new version?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Robert

    Hi Robert,

you can do all that from the control panel. You create a new project

(empty), then go to the old project folder in the control panel and with

the right mouse button you can copy individual files and paste them in

    the new project folder.

At least that's how I do it. It's not just one mouse click, but it

    doesn't take that long anyway.

    Cheers,

    Pedro
