Most likely the diameter isn't 0.032" because that requires a "restring"
of only 0.0045" which is less than your DRC settings. It's a very tight
connector!

I changed the pad size to 0.04" and that made restring become 0.0082 - just enough to satisfy the restring minimum in DRC, while still leaving 0.01" of clearance between the pads. A tight fit indeed! But I don't get a single error after running DRC now.
Thus, in fact, it was a "Restring" error, not a "Clearance" one. Since the DRC settings window has tabs with both of these words, the error message with "Clearance" word is misleading and should be changed in future versions.
