Changing default >NAME and >VALUE

autodeskguest
autodeskguest over 17 years ago

I'm wondering if there's a script or something that will allow me to change

the text size of >NAME and >VALUE in an entire library.

Most of them are using 50 or 70 mil text size, I want to change it to 24 mil

but don't want to smash every component, is there a way to do this easily?

Cheers

//Greg.

    try: change-text-in-lbr.ulp

    from the header:

    #usage "

    Change lib text sizes

    \n"
    "

This script loops through all packages in a library and changes

the text size and ratio to new user specified values.

    Thankyou!

Found it in the downloads section....

It doesn't seem to work on the schematic though?

I only get it to work on the board...

But half the work is done with the script - thankyou again image

    Greg,

Here's how I do it (in schematic as well as board layout)

    - I use the "Select" tool to select all devices

    - next I use the "Smash" command with the right mouse button to smash all

    components simultaneously

    - select all components again

    - now use the Change>Size also with the richt mouse button to change the

size of all names and values simultaneously.

That way you don't have to change any library.

There's a drawback however : if you added text to your schematic or board,

this will be changed as well if it's within the selection

BTW, 24 mil text size on a board? I don't think any PCB manufacturer is

capable of screen printing text of that size. You'd better check with your

    board mfg first.

    Cheers,

    Robert
