unreadable fonts in eagle - how to fix?

Today I installed eagle on Linux Mint 10 LXDE. unfortunetly the font colors ended up white on white, and I cannot read anything. Anybody have any idea what controls the font colors that eagle uses? This is happening in the control panel, about page, places like that. I can highlight the text and read it.

I've installed on Linux Mint 10 LXDE before and had it work, so it must be something kind of rare.

Any ideas or hints?

Have you checked the settings in the qtconfig(-qt4)?
