In the  v5.1 schematic, when do I use net vs wire?

Thanks

Wire is just for drawing lines. Net must be used for all signal connections.

Yet when I use wire on the net layer, Eagle considers it a net and assigns the

    wire a net number.

Net has the benefit of automatically making connections to pins and

other nets. Wire doesn't do this, so is more liable to errors.

Eagle has rules which one should adhere to if the least problems are to

    be faced.

Thanks, John.  I tried the net instead of the wire, and I will be using the net

from now on.  The difference is obvious.
