trying to load Eagle in linux

I just replaced a failing hard drive.  I previously had Eagle 4.09

running in both Windows ME and the Linspire version of Linux (dual boot

computer).  Now, when I try to load Eagle on the Linspire side, it comes

up with an error message when I try to start it, using "/bin/eagle".

 

"error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2:cannot

open directory"

 

The Linspire version is 5.0.59.

 

I've reloaded it sevral times from the ".tgz" file, trying different

directories to load it into.

 

Since I don't have any RPM extraction tool in this system, I can't try

the .rpm archive.

 

Any ideas???

    I suppose your distribution does not contain the glibc package

    EAGLE 4.0 expects. Maybe you need an older version of the glibc

    libraries. EAGLE 4.0 was release in the year 2000, your distribution

    was released 2005, I think.
