Merging two different projects

dnajemy

I have two complete schematic/layout designs, and would like to combine them. My understanding is that V6 will allow this, but I have no idea how!

Has anybody tried this? Both schematics and layouts are complete.

i.e. I can copy design A's schematic into design B's schematic, but the parts (as they should) come in unrouted/placed in the layout.

Any ideas?

What happens if you copy design A's board into design B's board?  Does it

pull in all the structure, and pull in design B's schematic pages, too?

If all you want to do is panelize two dissimilar boards (rather than

starting with the merged design and modifying it into one) then there are

applications that'll do that at the Gerber file level, and may be more

    appropriate.

My conservative friends think I'm a liberal kook.

Why am I not happy that they have found common ground?

    Edit/Paste from...

The lite version cannot do it as the incoming schematic needs additonal

    sheets.

The manual describes it in the section "Merge different schematic files".
