Gerber file (plc) is different from EAGLE source file

Former Member

I downloaded a open source hardware design made with EAGLE and try to make my own board.

After generating Gerber file according to the tutorial from http://www.piclist.com/images/www/hobby_elec/e_eagle44.htm , I found something interesting.

The gerber file is different from EAGLE source file in

  1. Extra space on the right side of gerber file.
  2. plc layer has unwante component values, stripes, measurement marks & etc.

Does anyone know the root cause and method to remove the differences? Why we can find these extra objects in EAGLE? In some invisible layers? I attached all of the images and source files in this post. Please help me out of this

annoying issue.

I find the root cause and solve it finally. The extra information locates on Layer 25 tName in EAGLE. When I export Gerber, the plc layer includes Layer 25. As a result, disable Layer 25 export in plc during export can solve it.

EAGLE is good, we just have to spend time to understand it.
