Create Library from Schematic/Layout.

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

Is there a way to create a library of the parts from a given schematic/layout?  Or some other solution to my problem described herein.  I have a Schematic/Layout with parts in it that I want to modify, but I do not have the library files to which the parts came from. I am trying to avoid recreating the parts from scratch or replacing the parts from existing libraries in fear of having to redo layout traces.  My hope is there is a script or .ulp that I can run that will recreate said parts into a new library or just let me modify the part.  Any guidance would be appreciated, my search of the internet and forums here yielded no clues.

    Hi Mark,

Use the exp-project-lbr.ulp that comes with EAGLE. In my experience it

works best when you let it create multiple libraries vs one library.

    Just my two cents.

There is a ULP to do just that.

    exp-project-lbr.ulp

...and run it from the schematic. In that way you will get the full library

devices. Running it from the board editor, you only get the packages, if I

    remember correctly.

    Hi

There is ULP available which will let you export all parts from a schematic to a library or multiple libraries. It is called exp-project-lbr.ulp. There is a video here on how to use it.
