Connecting Vcc on schematic

Hello all,

Well i am currently using a Breadboard Power Supply 5v/3.3v from Spark fun http://www.sparkfun.com/products/114 and i will be connecting the Vcc pin of the PSU to my schematic (see below). My question is if i insert a pin to the schematic and connect it to Vcc then all i have to do is just attach the bread board Vcc and finished schematic Vcc with hookup wire to obtain my desired voltage of +5v?

Hi

Your schematic does not have 'pins' for +5V or GND. All you have at the moment are SYMBOLS for +5V and GND, with NETS connecting to other parts of schematic where +5V and GND are needed.

You need to add a part. Or even two pads to connect wires to.

So the simplest way for you is to ADD two pads from the wirepad library.

Then ADD the +5V and GND symbol and wire them together as in the pic.

Then you will have two Through hole pads to solder your +5V and GND wires to, which

can be plugged into the breadboard.

Or you could use Header pins...or a DC Jack...or a Molex connector...

So, remember the difference between SYMBOLS and PARTS. Currently you have +5V and GND.... SYMBOLS...PAD1 and PAD2 are actual pads each connected to a schematic SYMBOL.
