Printing Question

Hello,

My goal is to build a single sided PCB with the Toner Transfer Method.

When printing to an HP LaserJet 4000 TN, the resistors, capacitors, and 2x3 header all print with holes in the pads but the MEGA8-P from the Atmel library prints with no visible holes.

Printing to Cute PDF (a virtual PDF printer), the MEGA8-P holes are visible but the scale is wrong so using Cute PDF as a filter would only work if scaling was fixed.

I recall from my last attempt that having holes in the pads really helps with drilling.

Has anyone overcome this problem?

Thanks,

Mark

This may just be a problem with the LaserJet 4000 TN.  Cute PDF and a Brother Inkjet both printed the pads with holes.

As a work-around, I am able to get CAM output in EPS format, import into Gimp, and then print pads with holes.  There is room for error though because the EPS print must be scaled up to get decent resolution.  Then Gimp has to be manipulated to print the correct size image.

Check out the ULP drill-aid. It may solve your issue
