Routing pads to the top gnd plane

Question

Hi: I'm designing a 2-layer pcb, and mostly for SMD devices, so most of the pads are on the top layer. I created two gnd planes (top and bottom), and when I want to route those pads connected to gnd, I can easily connect to the bottom gnd plane using a via, but it should be easier to connect to the top gnd plane so I can avoid the via... I can't find a way to route those pads to the top gnd layer...What I'm missing?

Perhaps your top ground plane does not have the correct net name?
