Drill file weirdness

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

I tried to use drillegend-stack.ulp to add a nice drill legend to my fabrication drawing.

Now when I run the standard Excellon CAM job, it splts the drd file into two sections.

=> drd.0102

=> drd.0116

I have tried to go backwards by deleting the layers inserted by the ULP, but cannot restore my project to the working state before I tried to add the drill legend.

How does the CAM job decide to split the drill file and what file do I access to fix the file corruption caused by the ulp ?

    Hi Matt,

    The ULP isn't the cause of the corruption here. What's going on here is

    that you don't have your layers setup properly in your board. Judging

    from the output you currently have blind vias setup from layers 1 to 2

    and through hole vias from layer 1-16. That's why there are two seperate

    drill files.

    If you intended to have blind vias from layer 1 to 2 then this output is

    correct. If you did not intend to have blind vias then you need to

    correct your layer setup by going into the DRC -> Layers tab.

    Let me know if you need any further clarification.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia

    Thanks Jorge,

    That did the trick. I had fat fingered layer setup. I will add that to my list of "things that can do wrong"
