Eaglecad 6.3 causes unhandled exception in windows xp

Hello

I would like to ask for help with Version 6.3. I have installed this version and am inprocess of upgrading all projects from version 5.10. When adding parts a schematic, clicking the cancel button causes windows to generate the error message "An unhandled win32 exception has occurred in eagle.exe[3524]. Earlier versions of Eaglecad work without issues.

I am not sure where to look for the problem. What have I missed in the installation process?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thank You!

I tried this here and don't experience this problem......

Could you check the settings in the Options/Directories menu for

the Library path. Is it pointing to the current EAGLE 6.3 libraries?

If not, please adjust it, open a schematic and try it again.

Does this happen all the time you press the Esc key?

    Richard,

    Thank You for the reply.

I have been testing version 6.3 on different platforms and find that version 6.3 will crash unexpectedly on windows 7 (32 or 64 bit). This may occur at any time and there is no particular command sequence that I can find that will cause the crash. I have seen the problem on saving a file, routing a board, and moving parts in the schematic.

The xp problem seems to be related to inserting from a library, but I have crashed the program by moving parts in the schematic.

A further observation is that 6.3 seems to crash in a similar manner on mulitple machines I have access. to

If it will help I can post the event log from a win 7 64 bit machine

    Thank You

    George

    Richard,

Any updates as to what to look for to solve this problem? I am still unable to use version 6.3 on xp without the program causing an unhandled exception error.

I have removed all versions of Eaglecad except 6.3 and still get the same errors.

    Thank You

    George
