Position of an part by pin number

Question

I'm having some trouble by placing the parts in the right position. In this situation i want to place my parts by pin number 1. When i select a part it takes always a pre-defined pin or location where i can set the position from. But in this case it's not pin 1 which i want to define the position from. Are there some options to solve this problem or am i missing something?

Hi,

You need to modify the component in the EAGLE library editor. The origing of the components in the library package editor determines the location of the components handle.

From the EAGLE control panel click on file/open/library and select the library that contains the package you need to edit. Click on the PACKAGE icon and select the package you wish to edit. Locate the origin of the page (0 0), you can easily find it because there is a cross hair somewhere in the page. Used the GROUP command and define a group surrounding the entire package, click on the MOVE icon and do a right click in the center of PIN one. Select the option "MOVE: Group". Match this group handle with the (0 0) origin of the page. Save the library, at your board click on Library/Update and select the library you updated.
