Changing between board and schematic

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

Hi!

I am using EAGLE 5.11 and I was wondering if I can create a shortcut to change between schematic and board and vice versa. I already found the command "Board" which does the trick if I am in the schematic, but I could not figure out what command should I use to change from board to schematic. I did some googling as well, but unfortunately I could not find the answer.

Any input is appreciated.

Cheers!

Klick on the ICON left to the page selection box in the schematic and

identify the same icon in the board and click that.

    Bye

    see "help edit"

         "edit .sch"  switches to schematic

         "edit .bar" switches to board

the board command is normaly used to create a .brd file if non exists

    yet.

Alt-1 and Alt-2 (etc.) simply and fast switch between the different

editor windows (look at their numbers in the title bars).

    (See Manual, "function keys".)

Thank you! I could not find this, but maybe I was just looking in the wrong direction. I was trying to find a command which will open the other window to map it to a key, but this is almost as good!

This is bit off topic, but I warmly recommend second monitor. Personally

running with three monitors now, one for schematic, one for board and

    one for datasheet/web browser.

try the attached ulp, you can add in your startup file eagle.scr:

    assign Alt+T run toggle_brd_sch;

if you want to have Alt+T as a shortcut.

Simpler version, without creating script file at all.

No ULP / script needed at all.

    You can just assign

         "edit .sch"

to a key in the schematic and

         "edit .bar"

    in the board editor.

Good to know that, but you should have two assigns for switching, No??

there are separate  key assignments for each editor (schematic, board,

    library).

Therefore you are free to assign the same key in schematic and board

    editor.
