Where is my library?

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

I have created a library with a few devices.   I have carried it along as I move to new Eagle versions.

I can see my library and the directory that I created to put it in from within Eagle but I cannot

see from Windows Explorer.   Where is it?   Eagle tells me the exact path where it thinks it is

but when I look, it is not there!

Thanks,

Pete.

    Hi Pete,

If you're on Windows 7, you've just been bit by UAC virtualization.

Basically if you try to save something to the lbr folder, Windows will

allow EAGLE to write to it and will tell EAGLE that it's there, but in

reality the file will be located elsewhere on the system. It's a

    security "feature".

I would recommend that you do a File -> Save As on your library and save

it to a location outside of Program Files(x86). To my knowledge the

Program Files folder is the only one subject to this "feature".

Needless to say don't save any of your personal work in the Program

    Files folder.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia
