I just purchased Eagle Hobby edition, but my boards still only allow 2 layers 1 & 16. How can I fix this?

Hi John,
EAGLE will always default to two layers regardless of version you have.
To make use of additional layers you have to set them up in the EAGLE
DRC -> Layers tab. In that tab there's a field called setup that has an
pseudo-equation (1*16). That string defines your layer stackup as well
if your design will contain blind or buried vias, etc.
The simplest setup for a 4 layer board is:
(1215*16)
For a six layer board it's:
(1231415*16)
