Eagle 6.4 Linux screen issues

Hmm never had this problem before myself... you're sure all the drivers are installed right? I run Ubuntu 12.10 on my macbook (32bit), and once I got all driver issues sorted out it worked fine.

Yes they are working fine, also on 3D applications.

I have actually updated them in the process of trying to get this to work, but no luck.

A note here: Downloading a PREVIOUS (5.x) version of Eagle from the repository works ok.

Unfortunatelly, I need 6.x.

One thing to look at when having text issues while scrolling/zooming is your

system fonts. With the schematic open, try using vector fonts (menu Options-

User Interface). If that helps, you possibly have a font issue. I'm a Gentoo

user, so I don't know the incantations for Ubuntu. However, one thing I do

on my system that resolves a lot of Eagle font issues is to turn off the

system bitmap fonts. That's 'eselect fontconfig 70-no-bitmaps.conf' on

Gentoo. Ubuntu should have some sort of similar functionality.

I've been using Eagle 6.2.0 for quite a while on a 64-bit installations

of Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 without any problems. A couple of months ago I

upgraded to Linux Mint Nadia XFCE (it's a respin of Ubuntu Quantal

12.10). I DON'T have the Unity interface installed (if I wanted a crappy

Mac interface, I'd have bought a crappy Mac).

Since the upgrade I've been working mostly with the board editor and

haven't seen any real problems with rendering, but this morning I used

the "show @" command to find something on a schematic and noticed it

(see attached PNG). I have a full-window capture, if it's more useful to

tech support, but it won't fit through the NNTP server.

If it proves to be repeatable I'll see if I can find a workaround.

Try turning off Display Compositing. That fixes the problem for me, but

may annoy other applications you're using.

I have the same problem running Linux Fedora 18 (did it in 17 also).  Using KDE, if I go to System Settings, Desktop Effects, Advanced and change Compositing type from OpenGL to XRender, Eagle works fine.

It's a pain cause I switch back to OpenGL before using other things like Google Earth, Blender, etc..

I've tinkered around quite a bit and have found no other fix/workaround.

i got some new infos... i managed to get it work... on certain sizes it's ok ! !

you """just""" have to size the window...

what you have to do :

- do not have it on full screen

- size the vertical window size for almost the 9/10 of the screen

- then size the horizontal size, slowly.

- on one size you'll see the correct image, test by zomming in and out... at first glance there is only one combinaison of width/height that work

i managed to get the two windows ok with that,

i hope cadsoft is working on that issue !
