Adding components after the board has been laid out??

I draw up a schematic then generate a boar and lay that out how I want it.

 

I then find out I left a component off the schematic and so add it but it does not get added to the board.

 

How do I "refresh " the board based on the updated schematic?

    When you add the new component, make sure both the schematic and the

    board layout windows are both open.

    The easy way is to delete the component from the schematic, then run an

    ERC to make sure the board and schematic are consistent - they match

    each other.  Again, make sure both windows are open when you do the ERC.

     

    Once the board and schematic are consistent, then you can add the new

    component to the schematic and make all the net connections as desired.

    Then, flip over to the board layout window to place the package and

    route the air wires.
