Where to find LTSpice ULP for Linux?

nedkonz
nedkonz over 12 years ago

I upgraded my Eagle version to 6.4 partly because of the new LTSpice integration.

I use Eagle on both Linux and Mac OS/X.

I run LTSpice under Wine or VMWare on Linux, and under VMWare or Parallels Desktop on my Macs.

However, I don't see any signs of the LTSpice integration in the Linux version (haven't looked at the Mac OS/X one yet).

It says on the Cadsoft website that there is a ULP that does this that can be downloaded but I couldn't find it on the site.

Where can I get the ULP?

I've downloaded the Windows version, and will try installing that to find the ULP, but would like to request that at least the Mac and Linux versions ship with a ULP that allows the appropriate import/export of schematics, etc.

    Hi Ned,

I hope you're doing well. Currently, the LTSpice integration really

works on Windows. It's not quite setup to run on Linux or Mac

environments just yet, but we're still working on it.

We should have that up soon.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia

Hi Jorge.  Does LTSpice work on Mac now?  Or Linux?

I could really use one or the other.  Thanks.

EDIT: it doesn't seem to be mentioned here: Beta version 6.5.2 available

    Hi Scott,

Unfortunately, not yet. All development effort is going into V7 right

now, so this likely won't be fixed until after the release of V7.

LTSpice runs under WINE on both systems, the issue is that the ULP isn't

    WINE aware yet.

I wish I had better news.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia

LTSpice's native Mac application runs fantastic.  And so does Eagle, no need for Wine at all.

Any chance of publishing the Windows ULP so end-users might be able to port it to the Mac?  I assume V7 is still 6+ months away?

    Thanks Jorge.

    Hi Scott,

I'm not at liberty to give any timelines about the V7 release of EAGLE.

The ULP can easily be obtained from the Windows version of EAGLE. I

can't attach it because it's larger than the forums allow, it's likely

that the port won't be too difficult we just can't dedicate the time to

    it right now.

    Hi Bhaskar,

Unfortunately, not yet. I personally think it's just a matter of setting

up some paths but with all of the rush for 7.3 we just haven't been able

    to get to it.

It could also use some further refining. I hope to be making some videos

on the LTSpice ULP soon, that may be reason enough to go in and update

    the ULP.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia
