Ok, so my windows system crashed and burned. Rebuilt the drive with Ubuntu. Downloaded Eagle CAD Lite (which I previously purhcased). I have the KEY file , but I do not know what the 10 digit installation code is. How do I get it?

The problem with installation code still there! :-)
May b it's time to change something?
I use a lot of commercial software on my Mac, with many type of licensing scheme, but never more saw this user unfriendly situation!
Why, You are:
- not store code in user cabinet?
- not send both files by e-mail?
- not use normal online authorization as backup?
Today 21st century, and most of people understand - legal soft much better than cracked! Why You don't like Your customers?! :-))))
Upd. of-course - I also lost my installation code :-) start read internet and find hundreds of topics!!!! :-)

Hello Vladimir,
I would have to disagree with you 100%. Personally, I really like this and
wish other software on my MAC would behave like EAGLE.
When you purchase an EAGLE license you get a .key file and a 10 character
install code. (For customers who purchase EAGLE from us at
http://www.eaglecentral.ca we send out an email which clearly states this
and implores you to back that information up).
So you have to keep this information. But with it here's what you get:
1) install the software where you need it (desk, lab, laptop, home,
cottage, ...). As long as you are a licensed user you can install it.
2) no call home feature, EAGLE does not require any internet connection to
run, never limited by not having connection, including during installation.
The only thing that won't work is checking if a new version is available.
3) storage of license info off-line which means it's never going to be
compromised
The only thing I would quibble with is if I am installing a upgrade version
(v6.5 -> v6.6) it would be nice if the installation program would see that
it is already licensed and just use that license so I don't have to enter
the info again.
Cheers,
James.
