Is it possible to REALLY disable the alpha-blending WITH a white background?

If you don't want to have alpha blending on a white background, you

can set the alpha value of all colors to 255, which will make them

fully opaque.

Thank you for the tip about the palette. It is not very intuitive

though. The different background buttons are not obviously buttons on

linux.

 

One cpu killer for me was the use of a large cursor. Switch to the

small cursor for a hardware accelerated cursor!! Moving the cursor

around the screen used up 50% cpu. I do not know why the performace

difference is so large between v4 and v5 with the large cursor though.

 

The drawing engine is horribly slow compared to v4. I dread having to

use v5 for a project.

 

I REALLY regret having saved a project in v5. Going back to v4 is no

longer possible.

 

Martin, to get your project back to v4 -

From Cadsoft website, you can find export-schematic.ulp and

export-board.ulp. Download these and run them on your v5 project to create

script files that you can then use to rebuild your project in v4. You'll

probably find there is some tidying up to do - I had some trouble with

details like text fonts, via drill sizes etc, but it saved a lot of work!
