Disappearing Library

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

I had a library of parts that I made for myself. It was named !My_Stuff.lbr and everything was working fine; I had used the parts in my designs and was able to make working boards from them. I even had backup copies of the library.

Suddenly the library has disappeared! I can't fine it in EAGLE and I can't find it using windows explorer. Can anyone tell me what might have happened to my file?

TIA

I am replying to my  own posting,....

OK, so I have lost my furschlugginer library >:(

I still have the parts in my drawings. How do I reconstruct the .sym and .pkg parts in a new (hopefully more robust) library using the components from the schematic and layout files? I am using Version 6.4 on Windows 7.

I still have the parts in my drawings. How do I reconstruct the .sym and

    7.

Just a thought: have you tried looking in:

    C:\Users\'username'\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files

    (x86)\EAGLE-x.xx.x

    for your library?

Windows 'User Account Control Data Redirection' has already suprised more

people on this forum. Worth a look. By default the 'Appdata' folder is

hidden, so you may have to adjust your settings to see it.

If your lib IS there I recommend NOT placing your lib, ulp, etc folders in

a 'Program files' subdir. Place them in your document folder (where you

    have access rights).

If your lib is gone, use one of the export ulp's. On 5.x there's

'exp-project-lbr.ulp'; it probably exists in 6.x, but I don't know for

    sure.

Ok Richard, I found the path specified up to the "Local" folder but there is not "VirtualStore" folder. Are you sure about that path?

I found that .ulp in the EAGLE 6.3 installation and tried it with 6.4 and it worked.

    Thanks for the info!

Yes, I'm sure about the path. See for an explanation ie.:

    https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/windows-7/blog/2009/10/02/uac-virtualization-and-how-it-affects-your-installers

Anyway, if the folder isn't there, then your lib certainly isn't,

    unfortunately...

If the 'export' ulp worked, than at least you can rebuild some of the lost

    lib.

    Succes.

    Richard
