Importing board outlines from AutoCAD

autodeskguest

I have several complex board outlines generated in AutoCAD (.dwg files).

They include complex curves which appear difficult to recreate.  Is it

possible to import these board outlines into Eagle Layout.  I can find no

import options of any kind.

Thanks for any guidance,

Ted

    As far as I remember, there are ULPs which allow you to import DXF in

    Eagle. See the download section on the CadSoft site.

    If you have complex outlines, it might be necessary to write them into a

    DXF file and use DWG/DXF version R12. In this version, vomplex entities

    are reduced to facets.

    Best regards,

    Günther

    Perhaps you can export them with AutoCAD to a format for which an import

    converter is available (DXF? Gerber? HPGL?).

    Look into the download section at the CadSoft homepage for import tools.

    They usually create script files that then can be executed from within

    EAGLE.
